Laura Carranza, Senior Associate, MBA

Laura Carranza is a Senior Associate with 2020 and supports all aspects of the M&A process.  Laura has more than 15 years’ experience as an environmental and climate markets expert, specializing in market intelligence, financial modeling and analysis for M&A and IPOs, and business strategy.

Laura began her career as an Environmental Engineer at TRC Companies. After receiving her MBA, she transitioned into environmental market research and business intelligence, joining Environmental Business International (EBI), publisher of the Environmental Business Journal, as Market Research Director. In this role, she has developed extensive experience acquiring and analyzing business intelligence for M&A and IPOs, evaluating financial statements and industry growth trends, developing market forecasts, and interviewing executives across the environmental and climate sectors. Her work helps 2020’s clients understand market trends, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and strategic growth opportunities, supporting decision-making across M&A, investment evaluations, strategic planning, and market positioning.

Laura holds an MBA in International Business from Southern States University and a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from San Diego State University.

Laura is based in San Diego, California and lives with her husband and her twin sons. She loves to spend time in Mexico, where she is originally from and in Italy, where she met her husband.
