Grant Ferrier, Director Market Intelligence
Grant Ferrier is a Strategic Director with 2020 Environmental Group and advises small and large companies in areas of market intelligence and research, strategic planning, M&A and other corporate growth initiatives.
Grant has a long and distinguished history of representing the interests of the environmental industry. Grant is the Founder and President of Environmental Business International (EBI) and publisher of Environmental Business Journal (EBJ), the environmental industry's leading business publication since 1988. EBJ is known for its series of comprehensive market research reports and conducts proprietary market research for private companies and government agencies. EBJ also holds the annual Environmental Industry Summit in San Diego, which is attended by environmental business leaders from across the globe.
In his 30 years in the industry Grant has worked with owners and executives at over 700 environmental and A&E firms, as well as investment professionals, government agencies and think tanks. He has testified before three U.S. Congressional Subcommittees and has advised the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the U.S. EPA and the U.S. Dept. of Commerce. Grant has served as an expert on the global environmental industry and advised international corporations and governments on environmental industry capacity building and export strategy in Asia, Australia, Canada, and Europe. Grant has served on the board of directors of five different corporations, and has advised both buyers and sellers of environmental companies.
Grant holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering and Conservation & Resource Studies. He resides in San Diego, California with his wife and three children.
