Dave Tiernan, Director

Dave is a Director with 2020 Environmental Group and supports all aspects of 2020’s M&A transactions with sellers and buyers navigating the entire deal lifecycle -- from initial sourcing, vetting for both financial value and strategic fit/growth potential, and M&A strategy, process, and execution. Dave also brings a unique ability to lead post-merger integration, ensuring cultural alignment and operational scalability and stability to realize full deal value. Dave has a 30+ year industry track record of leading exponential growth within the environmental sector and has been personally engaged in 35+ M&A acquisitions.

Prior to joining 2020, Dave was SVP of M&A for TRC Companies, as well as Deputy Director for TRC’s Environmental Division.  Reporting to TRC’s CEO and part of the Executive Leadership Team, Dave was responsible for all aspects of M&A. Through his work with numerous private equity partners at TRC, Dave also gained extensive experience presenting acquisition opportunities to boards and investment committees. This experience gives him a valuable perspective on how sellers and buyers can position themselves for successful transactions.

Dave holds M.S. Graduate Studies in Oceanography from Florida Institute of Technology, a B.S. Biology/Geography from Fitchburg State University, and certificates from American Management Association in Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting.

Additionally, Dave has been on the Board of Trustee’s at Fitchburg State University for the past nine years.
